I have always had trouble dictating memos and letters. For me, the act of typing is a part of the writing experience and thinking process.

But I might try to change that because you can dictate directly to the iPad and that is how I wrote the first draft of this post.

The App is called Dragon and the system is based on their Dragon Naturally Speaking; software I know has been around for some time.

Dragon lets you talk to you to the iPad while showing equalizer bars bottom and then processes your speech into text. Because the application connects with the Dragon servers you do we need a wi-fi connection to make it work.

So far I'm quite impressed with how well it works. Just tap the record button, say few words, and tap the screen to stop recording. A few seconds later the application gives you what it thinks you just said. You can use the keyboard to make alterations, and then email it to whomever you like.

So there you have it dial pad is also a secretary. It will transcribe your words into speech not bad, and certainly something but I wasn't expecting.

Dragon also works with iPhone
