At first glance, blogging and social media seem to impose an onerous burden. We have to network, hand out business cards, press the flesh and now feed the hungryiPhone Associated Press for Twitter and Facebook marketing legal services online with social media Internet community all manners of useful content in varying forms?

Yes, that seems to be the case. But it does not have to be a drag.

I’m sure any authority on blogging will tell you that person should only write on subjects of keen interest. I enjoy writing about the things I like which makes blogging fun; and it helps me ponder and learn more about what I do.

The social media part, e.g. Facebook and Twitter, is social; it’s supposed to be fun. And it’s just sharing what we find interesting. Having a good network of friends, Facebook, and followers, Twitter, is like having filters passing along the good and interesting bits from the web and life.

Participating in that conversation can happen along the way. Here is one way to get involved from anywhere, while reading the news over coffee with the iPhone.

The Associated Press offers a free iPhone App that is not stingy about providing news. There are over 50 categories that you can chose from including, sports, politics, health, travel and local news.

While you are reading the news, you can share a story on Twitter or Facebook with just a couple touches.

While sitting in traffic you can read the news and get in on the worldwide conversation. If you’re new to these sites, I must say it’s cool to have strangers engage in conversation and recognize a contribution.

I suppose that’s how strangers become friends and everyone likes to do business with friends.
