Twitter has exploded and I think for good reason. Before I got a Twitter account (@EsqTech) a friend explained it to me as just the status updates from Facebook. A Tweet is 140 characters at a time that responds to wht are you doing? I have seen Twitter called a microblogging site and associated with the idea of life casting. But in my experience with the lawyers I follow, Twitter is like and edited new feed because most often people mostly don't answer that question directly and personally rather they Tweet links to other information and articles on the web. So Twitter is good to find info no person has the time to find on their own. Follow the right people and get the interesting and useful stuff. The other use for Twitter is of course social because you get to meet people. Because Twitter has a large number of professionals, it is a great place to connect with lawyers and find out more about the law, tech, and how the two go together. For example, I follow and have Tweeted back and forth with Niki Black (@nikiblack) and Grant Griffiths (@grantgriffiths). Niki writes law tech articles and is knowledgeable about Web 2.0 and social media and Grant knows blogs and runs blawging for lawyers. I don't think Twitter is waste of time and it's worth looking at. I suppose it depends what you are looking get from it.
